On February 11, almost coinciding with the opening of the Chinese Lunar New Year the following day, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, presented the “Estrategia España Nación Emprendedora” (Spain as an Entrepreneurial Nation Strategy) at the Moncloa.

The key content of this national strategic plan is the basic statement of 50 measures to support talent and innovative entrepreneurship as a starting point from which the different ministerial departments will have to develop and deploy the corresponding actions that respond to the reality of our country and are feasible in the short term, as if to set the sails in favor of the wind, to take our country to the desired destination.

As the undersigned had the opportunity to build part of his professional experience in the not so distant China, and without wanting to dwell on superstitions, from The Lighthouse Team we wanted to link the powerful symbolism that brings with it the metal ox of the ancient Chinese culture to the immense challenge that our government, our economic agents and our society face to realize the aspiration of turning Spain into a true Entrepreneurial Nation, a term that in itself is still to be built.

Nothing is achieved without effort and confidence in what you are trying to achieve.

In the closing of his prologue to the referred national strategy, Pedro Sánchez states that “there are no limits if Spain believes in Spain (…) Thinking about the Spain we want to transform is an exciting challenge. And we are going to do it. Because Spain can”.

Precisely, the metal ox symbolizes prosperity, essential goal of any nation that aspires to be adjectivated as enterprising; but, resorting to the Chinese zodiac of 2021 and to the attributes of its animal, it is a prosperity that is reached through organized work, tenacity, patience, reliability and determination. In short, a prosperity that can only be achieved by combining effort, confidence, order and method.

In the careful reading that our team of lighthouse keepers has already begun to make of the document published by the government, we have identified, at least in ambition and projections, the traits that according to Chinese zodiacal tradition characterize those born in the year of the ox, as is the case of the Estrategia España Nación Emprendedora (Spain Entrepreneurial Nation Strategy).

We, the lighthouse keepers of The Lighthouse Team, were already moving in this direction since our light began to shine a couple of months before the pandemic from which we have not yet said goodbye was declared. We see ourselves identified/as with the strategy and we could almost say, at least as an anecdote, that the President of the Government himself wanted to quote us when he said in his presentation on February 11 that “we want Spain to be a beacon for entrepreneurs and startups around the world”. We would add that for any type of business project that aspires to generate profit and return, not only economically, but also socially.

The Lighthouse Team - Guide your business

We are not the only lighthouse, but we are one of the lighthouses born with the vocation of illuminating, always with the effort and determination to recover the luster lost in the path of this last year, the entrepreneur and the businesses of our country and all those who, from beyond the seas and borders, decide to come to it to contribute to the generation of global wealth.

We will keep moving and will continue to contribute as much as we can, with conviction, to each of the 50 goals that outline the horizon of Spain, a nation that can undoubtedly be called, without blushing, an entrepreneurial nation.
